SYNOPSIS
It appears that long time friends, Betty Montgomery and Florence Whitman are excited to attend their high school reunion for the obvious reasons of reconnecting with old friends. It's really come down to a handful of men, three to be exact...and the girls. The men love these women but Bet and Flo have their heart set elsewhere. And immediately the competition continues between them for they both are still pining over Robert, their high school crush. When he doesn't show up to the latest reunion, they vow to settle the score once and for all by taking a cross-country trip to confront him. One of the men makes a secret call to Robert to let them know the girls are coming. Their first few hours out of the driveway (and into a convenience store,) they find out some alarming news. Florence's up-to-date phone and web skills reveal Robert, now a successful talent agent, is engaged to be married! And even worse, to a way younger woman who must want his money! The girls want to make sure they make a great impression, as each of them believes they have a chance to reunite with Robert.
Their overnight stay at a local inn allows them to learn even more about each other, realizing they don't know the other as well as they thought. They confess their feelings about Robert and worry about how they will look. Their next stop at a high-end dermatologist proves they are both serious enough to soften their wrinkles with the latest injections even when they are secretly petrified of needles. The competition increases when Betty sees a highway sign to drive the "Nascar Experience" and Flo becomes even more concerned but surprises Bet with her knowledge of the sport. In the end, Flo secretly decides to drive and beats what Betty believes to be a winning time. They are congratulated by none other than Richard Petty.
Their long anticipated arrival in Las Vegas proves the two women have even more to learn about each other. Betty is an experienced craps player and owns the table right before Flo's eyes. Her winning streak invites a new friendship of a handsome player who comes over to thank them for his winnings. He is none other than one of television's most attractive and beloved stars, Johnny Peyton. His presence throws Betty's winning streak a curve and he offers to buy them dinner to make it up to them. They hit the nicest local spot in town with a piano bar. The girls confess to Johnny the intention of their trip to LA. When Johnny inquires more about their crush, he has to admit that Robert in fact, represented him years ago. The girls enlist him to help and he agrees. The mood is intoxicating, music is flowing, and spirits are high. Flo gains the attention of Thomas, a new suitor, who invites her to dance. Total chaos ensues when Thomas passes out on the dance floor. Betty, Johnny, the lounge singer, waitress and maitre'd all come to his aid and we find out he simply had an anxiety attack. Flo thought she killed him.
The last leg of the road trip begins and Bet, Flo and Johnny take turns driving and singing. With Johnny's connections, they arrive in Malibu in time to primp for the 'engagement party.' The three of them arrive together and are completely blown away by the extravagant party and the attendees. When Robert sees the girls, he is not surprised but greets them warmly. They find out their old friend George tipped Robert off! But each of them gets their own time with Robert. Bet's moment with Robert is truly heartwarming as she realizes her love for Robert has long passed but she's afraid of being 'alone.' Flo's time with Robert reveals a loving friendship never forgotten but the magic has long since passed. Johnny looks and acts very uncomfortable in the presence of Robert's fiancé. It's his former girlfriend Candy and she wants him out of the party immediately. Bet is on Johnny's side and is going to give Candy a piece of her mind. As they head off to the ladies room, Johnny is asked to leave by security. However the security guard is a big fan of Johnny's and they stop to talk a bit in the living room. Johnny grabs some candy out of a dish not realizing it contains peanuts until he has chewed them twice in his mouth. He goes into shock and Candy comes running, puts her hand down his pants and finds his Epi-Pen and stabs his leg. Total bedlam and insanity abounds with no one really knowing who's on first. Robert tells Candy to leave with Johnny, as it's obvious they still have feelings for each other. Bet and Flo feel victorious in assuring Robert stays a single man and saving him from his impending nuptials. The next afternoon reveals Robert sitting in a lounge chair by the pool. Next to him is Bet and Flo! Robert takes out his iPad and shows the girls the first launch of his new dating site, www.cupidsoversixty.com ! Flo loves the technology. Bet's still technically challenged! We then see their profiles by the touch of a finger. Flo's is first with a video spectacular; Bet's is next and hilarious. We pull back to reveal a Hawaiian Resort as Hawaiian music begins to play. Inviting melodies abound as the three of them get up and enjoy the music, laughter, and renewed friendships.
